Global hotel chains have signed agreements for more than 40 large hotel properties in and around Jaipur, with most expected to be operational within about five years. At least five hotels are projected to start operations within one year. Key names among these projects include Grand Hyatt, Ozone Villas, Radisson Blu, JW Marriott, Sofitel Legend, and Waldorf Astoria.
Concentration Along Jaipur-Delhi Highway and Investment Scale
About 20 of the proposed hotels are planned along the Jaipur-Delhi highway hospitality corridor, recognized for its connectivity and availability of large land parcels. Each large hotel project involves investments exceeding Rs 300 crore.
Destination Wedding Market Drives Hotel Features
The expansion aims to capture the growing destination
wedding business in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s leading destination wedding hub. Properties are designed with banquet facilities, lawns, and event infrastructure to accommodate wedding events, which generate higher room and food and beverage revenues than regular business travel.
Official Comments and Regional Developments
Surendra Singh Shahpura, president of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), stated, “Around 40 big hotels are coming up in and around Jaipur and they are at various stages of development. Most of these properties will be operational in about five years, while at least five are expected to start operations within a year.” Ranvijay Singh, a leading FHTR member, added,
“There is hardly any other industry investing such large amounts of capital in individual projects. These hotels will be key to creating thousands of employment opportunities.” He noted similar project developments are underway in other Rajasthan destinations such as Pushkar, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.
Additionally, RIICO is auctioning seven large plots to potentially increase the number of hotel developments around Jaipur.
