Delta Air Lines announced three new domestic routes on September 18, 2026, including two departures from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Beginning December 19, 2026, Delta Connection will operate twice-daily service between Los Angeles and Monterey, California, using Embraer E175 aircraft. The same day, Delta will launch daily flights from Salt Lake City to Monterey.
Delta will start daily mainline service between Los Angeles and Philadelphia on June 7, 2027. This route will be served with Airbus A321neos catering to summer travelers.
The airline will also increase flight frequencies on existing routes from Los Angeles: Boston will have five daily
flights; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, will rise to two daily flights; San Diego will have five daily; Seattle will increase to eight daily; Houston will see three daily; Cincinnati, Ohio, two daily; and San Antonio will increase to three daily departures.
Amy Martin, Delta’s vice president of network planning, said the carrier is investing in expanding access to California. She stated, “We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer. With new service to Monterey from both Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, alongside our continued growth at LAX, we’re creating more opportunities for
customers to connect to the places they want to go while building on our long-term commitment to Los Angeles and the West.”
Delta last provided service to Monterey in 2008, according to Cirium Diio schedule data, marking the new routes as a return to this market after an 18-year hiatus.
