IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered a Master Development Agreement with Australian developer ALAND to expand its Staybridge Suites extended-stay brand in Australia. The deal targets at least 15 hotels with about 2,000 rooms nationwide, establishing ALAND exclusive development rights for Staybridge Suites in Australia.
Initial Properties and Management
The first two franchise agreements are for Staybridge Suites Sydney Parramatta with 130 rooms and Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington with 112 rooms. Signature Hotel Management Group will operate both properties.
Location Strategy and Market Context
Parramatta is a major commercial center in Sydney, while Leppington is close to Western Sydney International Airport and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis development area. These
locations support demand from corporate travel, long-term projects, and relocations.
Staybridge Suites Brand Positioning
Staybridge Suites is an upscale extended-stay brand designed for stays of days, weeks, or longer. As of June 2026, it had 355 hotels globally with 152 in the development pipeline.

commitment to expanding nationally.
IHG and ALAND previously worked on voco Gosford, a 130-room hotel in ALAND’s Archibald precinct, New South Wales.

The partnership will increase availability of Staybridge Suites extended-stay hotels, offering options for corporate travelers and guests seeking more space and flexibility than conventional hotel rooms. The initial 242 rooms in Greater Western Sydney are the first phase toward a planned total of about 2,000 rooms.
