In the fiscal year 2025-26, Goa received international tourists mainly from the UK and Russia. The UK accounted for 70,349 arrivals, up 49% from 47,212, making it Goa’s largest overseas source market. Russia followed with 43,396 arrivals, up from 30,103. The US ranked third with 24,878 arrivals, rising from 17,425, while Germany contributed 11,958 arrivals, increased from 8,656.
Domestically, Maharashtra led with 15.9 lakh visitors in 2025-26, up 47% from 10.8 lakh. Karnataka was second with 8.6 lakh tourists, rising from 6.5 lakh. Delhi had 4.4 lakh arrivals, up from 3.3 lakh. Goa ranked fifth among domestic source markets for
its own hospitality sector.
Hotel Data Submission Compliance Gap
Only 60% of Goa’s 7,098 registered hotels and guesthouses submitted arrival data on the TIME platform in 2025-26, an improvement from 45% in 2024-25 but below adequate compliance. This gap affects the accuracy of tourist arrival statistics, with some hotels indicating reported increases may partly reflect improved data reporting.
TIME Software Contract Extension and Fee Conditions
Goa Electronics Ltd’s contract for the TIME application was extended until December 28, 2026. Tourism Director Kedar Naik stated that a 10% hike in processing fees for hotels using TIME will be considered only if data submission compliance reaches 70% of registered hotels.
