Morocco received 14.1 million tourists by the end of August 2026, reflecting a 4.5% increase compared to the previous year with an additional 608,000 visitors, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

August 2026 saw over 2 million tourist arrivals, establishing a new monthly record for Morocco. This figure is 3% higher than August 2025, buoyed by the summer season and consistent tourist activity.

Tourism Roadmap Impact

The Ministry credited the sustained growth to the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap, which focused on targeted investments in critical areas. Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor stated, “The 2023-2026 roadmap had showcased that investing in a well-targetted manner in key levers

yields results in terms of both the flow and socio-economic impact.”

Expansion Plans

Looking ahead, Minister Ammor said the next phase intends to broaden tourism’s advantages. She added, “The next phase should enable us to significantly expand it and ensure that more regions and tourism-sector stakeholders benefit from it.”
