Dominica’s government has set an ambitious target to expand the tourism industry to EC$1 billion, as announced by Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton at the Roseau South Town Hall meeting in Loubière.
Tourism revenue for the 2024-2025 period amounted to approximately EC$405 million, reflecting the sector’s growing contribution to Dominica’s economic activity. Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton said these figures demonstrate the increasing importance of tourism to Dominica’s economy and provide a strong foundation for the government’s $1 billion industry goal.
Infrastructure Projects Enhance Visitor Access
The government is advancing major infrastructure projects including the ongoing construction of the Dominica international airport and development of
a new marina. These projects are expected to improve air access, increase visitor arrivals, and expand tourism revenue streams.

Tourism is playing an increasingly important role in driving economic activity and creating job opportunities across Dominica. Minister Pemberton stated that these infrastructure efforts could propel Dominica toward its EC$1 billion target and strengthen tourism’s contribution to overall economic growth.
