Dominica is pursuing a tourism sector valued at EC$1 billion as its industry revenues approach EC$405 million during the 2024-2025 period, according to Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton.
Infrastructure Projects to Boost Tourism Growth
The construction of Dominica’s international airport and a new marina development are key infrastructure initiatives underway to support this target. The government anticipates that improved air access from the airport project will lead to an increase in visitor arrivals. In addition, the marina is expected to contribute significant revenue and strengthen the overall tourism sector.
Government’s Strategic Focus on Tourism Economy
Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton highlighted the sector’s growing role in driving Dominica’s economic activity and increasing
employment opportunities. The government regards the EC$1 billion target as attainable through continued investment in tourism infrastructure and services, reinforcing tourism as a central pillar of the nation’s economy.
