A hotel at 3000 E NASA Parkway in Houston’s Clear Lake area is being transformed into Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay. The property, previously known as Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake, was acquired by Nassau Bay Resorts LLC in 2025 and will debut under its new name after renovation.
Renovation Features Include Margaritaville-Themed Amenities and Expanded Facilities
The renovated hotel will have 229 rooms with full redesigns. It will incorporate four Margaritaville-themed restaurants and a lazy river. Conference and meeting spaces are part of the upgrade, alongside amenities such as marina access, boat parking, and an on-site store to serve visitors.
Timeline of Acquisition, Employee Layoffs, and Reopening
Nassau Bay Resorts LLC acquired the
hotel in 2025. To prepare for renovations, the company filed a notice with the Texas Workforce Commission to lay off all employees effective July 31, 2026. The hotel’s reopening is scheduled for late 2027 following the extensive renovation work.
Official Statement and Projected Impact on Community and Visitors
Kam Miramadi, CEO of Nassau Bay Resorts LLC, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are excited to introduce Compass Hotel Nassau Bay and bring this new destination to the Clear Lake community, just minutes from NASA/Space Center Houston.” He highlighted the goal to reflect the local character and offer a comfortable stay for a diverse range of guests including business
travelers, conference attendees, boaters, and locals.
The hotel is positioned to provide new hospitality options in Houston’s Bay Area once it reopens, expanding offerings for tourism and business activities close to the NASA/Space Center Houston campus.
Margaritaville’s Regional Development Activities
Margaritaville is concurrently developing a $250 million, 334-room hotel on Galveston Island. In 2022, the company opened Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Crystal Beach, extending its hospitality footprint in the Texas coastal region.
