Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa in Formby, Merseyside, England, will host the 8th Golf Tourism England (GTE) Convention from July 25 to 27, 2027. The event marks 10 years since the launch of the GTE Convention, which was first held at Formby Hall in 2017.
Formby Hall’s Role and Location
Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, features an 18-hole championship golf course. The resort is located near notable courses including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Southport & Ainsdale, and Formby Golf Club, all part of England’s Golf Coast.
Formby Hall has established itself as one of the UK’s leading golf
resorts, having previously hosted the inaugural GTE Convention a decade ago.
International Attendance and Economic Impact
The three-day event will attract golf tourism professionals from Europe and the United States, including golf clubs, resorts, hotels, tour operators, and travel specialists. Golf tourism plays a major role in the local visitor economy in Southport and England’s Golf Coast.
Delegates will have the opportunity to experience one of England’s most established golfing regions during the convention.
Official Statements on Event Significance
David Goscombe, Director of Golf & Leisure at Formby Hall, said, “Hosting the Golf Tourism England Convention again, ten years after the first event was held at Formby Hall, is something
we’re really proud to be part of.” He also noted, “The convention will be bringing some of the leading figures in golf tourism to this part of the country. It gives us the chance to show them what Formby Hall has to offer and, just as importantly, introduce them to the wider golf experience across Southport and England’s Golf Coast.”
