A hotel in Houston’s Clear Lake area is undergoing a major renovation to become the Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay. The property, formerly known as Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake, is located at 3000 E NASA Parkway near NASA/Space Center Houston. The renovation is scheduled for completion with a planned opening in late 2027.
Planned upgrades for the hotel include four restaurants themed around the Margaritaville brand, a lazy river, and fully redesigned guestrooms. The renovation will also include dedicated conference and meeting spaces aimed at serving business travelers and events.
The revamped hotel will have 229 guest rooms.
Additional amenities will feature marina access, boat parking facilities, and an on-site store. The property aims to cater to visitors, conference attendees, boaters, and local residents.
Nassau Bay Resorts LLC acquired the hotel property in 2025 and initiated the rebranding and renovation project. In June 2026, the company filed a notice to lay off all employees by July 31, 2026, to enable the renovation work. The Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay is expected to officially open its doors in late 2027.

Kam Miramadi, CEO of Nassau Bay Resorts LLC, said the company is “excited to introduce Compass Hotel Nassau
Bay and bring this new destination to the Clear Lake community, just minutes from NASA/Space Center Houston.” He added that the hotel will “offer a new hospitality option for visitors, business travelers, conferences, boaters, and locals alike,” and that the property will reflect the character of the surrounding area while providing a comfortable stay.
Margaritaville Expansion in the Region
The Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay follows other recent Margaritaville developments in the region, including a $250 million, 334-room Margaritaville property under development on Galveston Island. Margaritaville also opened Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Crystal Beach in 2022, highlighting the brand’s expanding presence in Texas hospitality.
