Delta Air Lines will launch nonstop flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris starting March 27, 2027, the airline announced at Austin’s main airport. This new service marks the first nonstop connection from Austin to Paris and expands Delta’s growing international presence from Texas.

Delta’s Growth and Presence in Austin

Delta is the second-largest carrier at Austin-Bergstrom Airport after Southwest Airlines, with a network of 32 routes out of Austin. The airline experienced nearly 15% passenger growth from 2024 to 2025 at this airport. Over the past decade, Delta’s operations in Austin have expanded by 900%, supported by 3,200 employees across Texas. Additionally, Delta recently announced

establishing a flight attendant base in Austin to support its increasing operations in the city.

Statements on Austin’s Expansion and Route Strategy

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” Delta President Peter Carter highlighted the airline’s workforce growth and infrastructure investments in Austin. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz called the announcement a “big damn deal,” praising Austin’s dramatic transformation since 1957 and describing it as becoming a hub comparable to Silicon Valley. Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi said the route expands Central Texas

travelers’ access to global destinations and meets strong regional demand, including connections to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and India.

Airport Investments and Traveler Benefits

Alongside route expansion, Delta plans to open a new Delta Sky Club and a Delta One lounge at Austin-Bergstrom. Notably, the Delta One lounge will be the first of its kind outside a Delta hub airport. These facility upgrades coincide with Delta’s strategic growth in Austin and provide travelers enhanced services. The new nonstop Paris flight will improve international connectivity for Central Texas, addressing demand for direct access to European and broader global markets.
