Delta Air Lines will begin nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) starting March 27, 2027. This new nonstop route marks the first direct flight connecting Austin, Texas, and Paris.

Delta’s Investment in Austin Airport Facilities

Delta plans to enhance Austin-Bergstrom International Airport by opening a new Delta Sky Club and introducing its first Delta One lounge outside a Delta hub. The airline has expanded its presence in Austin significantly, with a 900% growth over the past decade and nearly a 15% increase in passengers between 2024 and 2025. Delta currently offers 32 routes from Austin and employs 3,200

people across Texas, including a recently established flight attendant base in the city.

Official Statements Highlight Austin’s Growth and Market Potential

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the airline recognizes Austin’s rapid growth and wants to be part of the city’s evolving travel demands. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz described the announcement as a “big damn deal,” noting Austin’s transformation into a major tech hub comparable to Silicon Valley. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport CEO Ghizlane Badawi emphasized that the route reflects the city and region’s expanding market and provides greater access to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including India, due to localized

travel demand.

Impact on Travelers and Connectivity

The new nonstop flight will reduce travel time and improve connectivity for Central Texas residents seeking direct access to Paris. The route will also facilitate convenient connections onward to destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. This addition aligns with broader demand for expanded international service from Austin.

Delta is currently the second-largest carrier at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, behind Southwest Airlines, underscoring the airline’s growing role in connecting Austin to domestic and international destinations.
