Delta Air Lines announced nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), starting March 27, 2027. This will be Austin’s first-ever nonstop service to Paris.

Delta’s Growth and Investment in Austin

Delta employs 3,200 people across Texas and has grown its operations in Austin by 900% over the past decade. The airline offers 32 routes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and saw a nearly 15% rise in passenger count from 2024 to 2025. Delta is the second-largest carrier at AUS behind Southwest Airlines. The airline plans to open a new Delta Sky Club and the first Delta One lounge outside a

hub at Austin-Bergstrom.

Statements from Delta and Officials

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” Delta President Peter Carter emphasized Delta’s strong presence in Texas, including a recently announced flight attendant base in Austin. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz called the announcement a “big damn deal,” highlighting Austin’s transformation into what he called “Silicon Valley,” and the importance of connectivity for job growth. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport CEO Ghizlane Badawi said, “This new route gives Central Texans greater access to the

world with convenient connections throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, including India, where we know there is a lot of demand in Central Texas for India.”

Benefits for Travelers and Market Context

The nonstop Austin-Paris service removes layovers, providing direct transatlantic access for travelers. It expands connectivity from Central Texas to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Delta’s investment in Austin-Bergstrom, including lounge developments and expanded route offerings, underscores Austin’s emergence as a global travel hub.
