Delta Air Lines announced it will begin nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) starting March 27, 2027. This marks Austin’s first nonstop flight connecting directly to Paris.
Delta’s Expansion in Austin and Texas
Delta has increased its presence in Austin by 900% over the past decade, now offering 32 routes from Austin-Bergstrom. The airline is the second-largest carrier at AUS behind Southwest Airlines and grew its passenger count from the airport by nearly 15% between 2024 and 2025. Across Texas, Delta employs 3,200 people and recently established a flight attendant base in Austin. The carrier plans to open
a new Delta Sky Club and a Delta One lounge at Austin-Bergstrom, with the Delta One lounge being the first to open outside a Delta hub.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” Delta President Peter Carter highlighted the company’s significant growth and investment in Austin and Texas. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz attended the announcement, calling the new flight “a big damn deal”. Cruz referenced Austin’s transformation since 1957, noting its rise as a
tech hub akin to Silicon Valley. Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi explained the route reflects the strength of Austin’s market and regional growth, emphasizing the airport’s need to meet Central Texas’s expanding demand for access to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including India.

The nonstop Austin-to-Paris flights will provide Central Texas travelers direct access to one of Europe’s major gateways. The new route enhances connectivity beyond Europe to Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia through convenient onward connections. This development supports Austin’s role as an emerging global business and technology hub, aligning with Delta’s broader expansion strategy
in the region.
