On August 13, 2026, Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that Atlantic Suites Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, has joined its portfolio as an affiliated property, marking Hyatt’s first affiliated hotel in the country.

Atlantic Suites Hotel Features and Location

The Atlantic Suites Hotel currently offers 80 guestrooms and suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Atlantic Ocean or the Georgetown skyline. Designed primarily for business and extended-stay guests, the hotel houses a 24-hour fitness center. It is situated approximately six miles from Eugene F. Correia International Airport and resides in the commercial heart of Guyana’s capital. Guests of Atlantic Suites have access to facilities at the adjacent

Pegasus Hotel and Pegasus Corporate Business Center, both owned by RJR Investments & Holdings Inc., which together provide about 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space, six dining venues including the Aura Sky Lounge, and an outdoor pool.

$50 Million Expansion and Rebranding

RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. plans to develop a new tower adjoining the existing Atlantic Suites Hotel through a $50 million investment, scheduled for completion by 2028. Once finished, the new tower will connect to the current building via a pedestrian bridge. The combined property will be rebranded as Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana, featuring a total of 240 guestrooms and suites,

a signature restaurant and market, lobby, rooftop bar, as well as expanded meeting and event spaces. This project will offer enhanced accommodations for business, leisure, and group travelers.

Hyatt’s Expansion Strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean

The addition of Atlantic Suites Hotel supports Hyatt’s strategy to increase its presence in emerging markets within Latin America and the Caribbean. Later in 2026, Hyatt Place Georgetown Guyana, with 136 guestrooms, a rooftop bar, outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast, is expected to join Hyatt’s portfolio, further expanding the brand’s footprint in Guyana.

Official Statements and Corporate Context

Cristiano Gonçalves, Hyatt’s Vice President of Development for South America and the Caribbean, described Hyatt’s entry into Guyana as

a milestone aligned with the country’s economic growth and rising travel demand. Robert Badal, CEO of RJR Investments & Holdings Inc., emphasized that the timing aligns with Guyana’s period of rapid expansion and international interest. Post-transition in 2028, the Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana will participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing guests to earn and redeem points across stays, dining, and other experiences.

Headquartered in Chicago, Hyatt Hotels Corporation operated over 1,500 properties worldwide across 83 countries as of June 30, 2026. Hyatt’s portfolio includes luxury, lifestyle, inclusive, classics, and essentials brand categories, encompassing Hyatt Regency and Hyatt
