Holland America Line has opened bookings for Zuiderdam’s inaugural European voyages beginning April 2, 2028, following a significant transformation as part of its Holland America Evolution program. The ship will reenter service in the Mediterranean before sailing from Amsterdam during the summer of 2028.
New European Itineraries for Spring and Summer 2028
The initial Mediterranean cruises connect Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon with calls at ports including Livorno (Florence and Pisa), Marseille, Valencia, Málaga, Cádiz, Gibraltar, and Tangier. Subsequently, the ship will operate a 13-day Atlantic Europe itinerary from Lisbon to Amsterdam, calling at Porto, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Paris, London, Cork and Dublin.
During the summer, Zuiderdam will sail from
Amsterdam to Northern Europe and Iceland. Norwegian Fjords routes include visits to Bergen, Oslo, Skjolden, Ålesund and Nordfjordeid, traversing notable fjords such as Sognefjord, Nordfjord and Hardangerfjord. Longer Northern Europe cruises include a 10-day Norwegian Fjords & Landscapes voyage and an 11-day Wild British Isles sailing covering ports throughout Ireland and Scotland.
Multiple cruises between Amsterdam and Reykjavík will explore Iceland and the North Atlantic, calling at Akureyri, Ísafjörður, Seyðisfjörður, Grundarfjörður, and Heimaey, as well as the Shetland and Faroe Islands.
Zuiderdam’s Upgraded Accommodations and Features
The transformation brings Pinnacle Class features to Zuiderdam, including new accommodations such as Solo Verandahs designed for solo travelers,
forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, Vista Suites, and a redesigned Pinnacle Suite. Refreshed staterooms complement these additions, and the ship now features the Grand Dutch Café, a popular venue from Holland America’s Pinnacle Class ships. Additional enhancements will be announced in the coming months.

America Evolution, the company’s largest fleet investment over 153 years, aimed at bringing Pinnacle Class amenities to more ships. The cruise line operates 11 vessels visiting nearly 400 ports across 114 countries, including over 75 years of Alaskan cruise experience.
