American Airlines delayed over 1,100 flights across the United States on July 30, 2026. The widespread delays were caused by an IT system failure at American Airlines that triggered a nationwide ground stop by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to reports, the FAA ground stop contributed to a total of more than 1,454 flight delays at U.S. airports nationwide on the same day. In addition, 102 flights were canceled across the country, further disrupting air travel.
