Vietnam’s Tourism Strategy Focuses on Reform and Cooperation
The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has outlined a second-half 2026 strategy emphasizing policy reform, development of international markets, and digital transformation. Plans include strengthening the national framework for tourism development and expanding cooperation among airlines, travel companies, and accommodation providers to meet incoming
travel demand.
Growth Driven by Visa Policies and Market Expansion
Expansion in tourism has been supported by the implementation of more favorable visa policies, active tourism promotion efforts, and growth in key international source markets. These factors contributed to the notable increase in visitor arrivals during the first half of 2026.
Digital Transformation and Data Integration Efforts
Vietnam intends to advance its digital transformation by integrating tourism databases with the national population database. Additionally, tourism statistics will be upgraded to meet international standards, aiming to enhance data quality and support more effective policy decisions.
