Vietnam received an estimated 1.68 million international visitors in June 2026, contributing to a total of 12.3 million arrivals in the first half of the year. This represents a 14.9 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to data cited by Asia Gaming News | AGB – Asia Gaming Brief.

The country has set a target to attract 25 million international tourists throughout 2026. Tourism revenue is expected to reach VND 1.125 quadrillion, approximately $43 billion. Growth in arrivals is supported by more favorable visa policies and the expansion of key source markets.

General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, indicated the strategy for the second half of 2026 will center on policy reform, international market development, and digital transformation.

The emphasis on policy reform aims to enhance the overall regulatory framework to facilitate tourism growth, while international market development focuses on increasing inbound travel from diversified source markets.

Policy Initiatives and Industry Collaboration Strengthen Tourism

Vietnam’s tourism policy agenda includes strengthening its national framework to establish the sector as a key economic contributor. Plans involve reinforcing cooperation among airlines, travel agencies, and accommodation providers to meet rising inbound visitor demand.

These collaborative efforts target improved coordination to capitalize

on the surge in international arrivals following recent visa facilitation and promotional activities.

Digital Transformation Advances Tourism Data Integration

Digital initiatives incorporate integrating tourism-related databases with the national population database, enhancing data accuracy and management capabilities. Tourism statistics systems are also being upgraded to comply with international standards, supporting better-informed policy decisions and sector development.
