Chicago’s airports experienced significant operational disruptions on July 6, 2026, with a total of 861 flights delayed and 184 flights canceled throughout the day. These disruptions resulted in widespread interruptions to air travel in and out of the city.
Among the carriers notably impacted were Delta Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, and Republic Airlines. The delays and cancellations affected a broad range of routes, including domestic flights within the United States as well as international connections to several countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Japan.
