On June 15, 2026, Chicago area airports experienced considerable operational disruptions with a total of 340 flights delayed and 20 flights canceled. These disruptions occurred throughout the day, affecting a wide range of scheduled departures and arrivals.

Several major airlines, including American Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, and United Airlines, were among those impacted. The affected routes included domestic and international destinations spanning the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and additional countries.

As a result of these delays and cancellations, hundreds of passengers were left stranded at Chicago’s airports, facing extended wait times and interruptions to their travel

plans. The disruptions notably impacted travelers on key routes across North America and Europe.
