Amtrak has commenced service of its newly introduced Airo trains along the Pacific Northwest route in 2026. This rollout forms part of the company’s efforts to modernize its fleet and improve service on this corridor.
Designed to operate at speeds reaching 125 miles per hour, the Airo trains incorporate advanced technological features aimed at environmental sustainability. Notably, these trains utilize systems that reduce emissions by approximately 90% compared to previous models. The combination of higher speeds and eco-friendly technology illustrates a focused approach to balancing performance enhancements with reduced environmental impact.
