The California High-Speed Rail Authority has recently approved a contract valued at $3.5 billion for the construction of track and related systems in the Central Valley region of California. This contract represents a significant step forward in the continued development of the state’s high-speed rail infrastructure.
The contract was awarded in 2026 to a private consortium led by construction firm Kiewit. The consortium will be responsible for executing the installation of the railway track and its associated operational systems across the designated Central Valley segment.
