The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently overseeing an outbreak of Andes virus, a rare hantavirus, aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship. The situation involves multiple passengers who have contracted the virus while on the vessel.
Health authorities confirm that at least three U.S. passengers from the affected cruise have returned to their home states. Additionally, officials report a Canadian passenger who tested positive for the virus has since recovered. The CDC continues to monitor the ongoing situation closely as they coordinate response efforts.
