Norwegian Cruise Line has announced a substantial revision to the Norwegian Viva’s 2026 schedule by cancelling nearly nine months of sailings originating from Puerto Rico. This decision affects hundreds of voyages initially planned from the Caribbean port.

Following this change, Norwegian Viva will be repositioned to Miami, establishing the city as its homeport through 2028. This adjustment reflects a shift in the cruise line’s Caribbean operations focus toward departures from Miami and routes involving the Bahamas.

Operational Changes and Traveler Considerations

Passengers who previously booked Norwegian Viva cruises from Puerto Rico will need to revise their travel arrangements or consider alternative itineraries departing from Miami.

The company has not released specific details about compensation policies for those impacted.

The relocation marks a notable adjustment in Norwegian Cruise Line’s deployment strategy, centralizing Caribbean cruises on Miami-based routes for the foreseeable future.
