In June 2026, China introduced its first cruise-to-nowhere voyage departing from Shanghai. This new offering marks a notable development in the country’s cruise sector by presenting a travel option that starts and ends at the same port.

Unlike traditional cruises, this voyage operates without making any stops at other ports. Passengers aboard this itinerary will therefore experience a continuous sea journey from Shanghai and back, reflecting the introduction of a distinct cruise permit type in China. This allows travelers to enjoy the cruise atmosphere without disembarking at other destinations.
