Several Caribbean tourism destinations, including Saint Lucia, are encountering notable declines in hotel occupancy throughout 2026. This downturn impacts more than ten prominent locations across the region, highlighting widespread challenges for destinations that heavily rely on the tourism sector.
Among the affected areas are well-known resorts such as Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, as well as Cancun and Turks and Caicos Islands. These popular tourist markets are experiencing reduced visitor numbers, contributing to operational challenges within the hospitality industry.
