Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of close to nine months’ worth of scheduled sailings for the Norwegian Viva departing from its previous homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This change affects numerous planned cruises from the Puerto Rican port over an extended period.
In connection with these cancellations, the cruise line has shifted the Norwegian Viva’s Caribbean operations to Miami, Florida. The ship will maintain Miami as its homeport through at least 2028, marking a significant adjustment in its Caribbean itinerary base.
Passengers who intended to embark on cruises from San Juan will need to reconsider their travel
plans, as Miami will now serve as the embarkation point for Norwegian Viva’s Caribbean sailings. The duration and scope of the relocated operations underscore a notable shift in Norwegian Cruise Line’s positioning within the Caribbean cruise market.
