
The California High-Speed Rail Authority has granted a contract valued at $3.5 billion to a consortium led by Kiewit to undertake construction of track and related systems. This contract initiates the physical development phase of the high-speed rail project in California.
Work under this agreement will focus on the Central Valley region of California and involves installing electrified rail tracks and systems essential for the operation of the rail line. This contract represents the start of building the state’s first electrified high-speed rail infrastructure.
