The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has advocated for the creation of a revised framework aimed at capturing the full economic value of tourism in the Caribbean region. This call to action reflects a recognition that current measurement approaches may not fully encompass the sector’s wide-ranging contributions.

Efforts are focused on establishing a methodology that broadens the scope of economic assessment to more accurately reflect the diverse impacts generated by tourism in the Caribbean industry. The proposed approach seeks to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of tourism’s role within the region’s economy.
