Severe weather linked to Typhoon Jangmi in early June 2026 has caused significant interruptions to air travel in Japan. The storm’s impact has extended across numerous airports and airlines, affecting domestic and international schedules.

Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have together cancelled more than 1,400 flights due to the storm. Additional cancellations and substantial delays have been reported by other carriers including Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines. The combined schedule adjustments exceed 800 delayed flights across affected operators.

The disruption spans several key airports such as Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita facilities, as well as airports in Osaka, Okinawa,

Fukuoka, Kagoshima, and Miyazaki. The storm has also affected rail and ground transportation, with suspensions reported particularly in eastern Japan, further complicating travel plans.

Travelers planning to depart from or arrive at the impacted airports should anticipate delays and cancellations. It is strongly recommended that passengers verify the current status of their flights directly with airlines before proceeding to the airport.
