The California High-Speed Rail Authority has awarded a contract worth $3.5 billion for the installation of electrified track and associated systems. This move advances the nation’s first true high-speed rail effort and marks a significant step in upgrading the rail infrastructure within the state.
Following board approval, a specialized consortium has been selected to undertake the track and systems installation work. The contract specifically includes construction activities in California’s Central Valley, where the initial track laying will begin. The project aims to incorporate modern electrified track technology expected to enhance the overall rail system.
